Meredith Havens Fire Museum covers Trenton Fire Department's 269 year history.
At left is a hand-written letter dated March 26th, 1885 from Leon Abbett (who served two separate terms as the 26th Governor of New Jersey, from 1884 to 1887 and from 1890 to 1893), thanking Trenton firefighters for their " efforts in saving the colors of the New Jersey Volunteers from destruction by fire on the morning of March 21,1885."
