Smoldering road milling machine on Ewing Street in Princeton on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. The brand new machine, doing the road milling for the first time, struck a buried six-inch gas line, sparking the fire at about 8:30 a.m. that quickly consumed the machine and spread to a tree. Firefighters were able to quickly put out the tree blaze, but could not extinguish the flames fueled by gas escaping upward into the street.
