For leading the Steinert football team to a well-balanced 19-7 victory over Wall Friday night, Adam Riese is The Times' Athlete of the Week 11-17-2011. In the middle of the rare state quarterfinal football win was Riese, the multitalented quarterback who rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns and completed 10 of 18 passes for 121 yards. He also punted four times for nearly a 40-yard average during the seventh-seeded Spartans' big night against second-seeded Wall.
